Refreshments, cakes, bric-a-brac, books, Christmas gifts, Christmas cards, calendars, mugs and key rings were on sale at a Christmas fair being held by Disability Recreation Unity Movement (DRUM).

The event took place at Parkgate Community Centre, Southwold Road, on Saturday.

The four Christmas card designs feature artwork by DRUM members Anne Darby and Geoff Moseley who have both suffered a stroke, Darren Latham who has multiple sclerosis, and Steve Hale who is sight impaired.

The new 2015 calendar features artwork by DRUM members from the new art project "Wish you were here", which is inspired by favourite holiday destinations.

The cards and calendars have been printed by P&P Print Design (Watford) and all proceeds raised through the sales will go to DRUM, to help fund future art projects and art materials.

The mugs and key rings feature artwork by another DRUM member Mel Goman who chose the film Quadrophenia as her inspiration.

DRUM is a small registered charity providing day services and support to adults with physical and/or sensory disabilities.

It is a "user-led" organisation run by a management committee of disabled members and carers, supported by a team of part time staff and volunteers.

Some members were born with a disability but the majority have acquired a disability through a sudden accident or illness.

DRUM provides a regular daybreak and support to more than 100 unpaid carers.
