Garston gardener Laurie Douglas is stepping out for his twentieth sponsored 18.2-mile hike round south west Hertfordshire this weekend.
The 48-year-old will trek through Watford, Bushey, Bedmond and Kings Langley in support of friend and treasurer of the Brow Club in Woodside, Anne Strange, on Saturday, November 29.
Dad-of-four Laurie, who lives in the Meriden estate, said: "She is and will probably always be the most dedicated person the club has ever seen.
"We all miss her here and wish her the best."
The walk has already raised £300 in sponsorship, but Laurie hopes to raise more before the hike.
People can sponsor Laurie by filling out a form in the Woodside Community Centre or emailing Brow Club secretary Mick Jordan. Cheques can be sent to the Woodside Community Centre, 48 The Brow, Woodside, Garston, WD25 7ET.
