Police investigating a burglary in Radlett which saw a number of sentimental jewellery items stolen from elderly victims are appealing for witnesses and information.

The offender, or offenders, gained entry to the victims' address by smashing a rear window between 3pm and 6pm on Saturday, November 22.

Items which were stolen included a 22 carat gold men's Albert watch chain engraved with 'J.W. 1921'. The box and watch bar were also stolen, as well as a gold chain with a locket containing a picture of one of the victim's parents, a coloured stone necklace (the matching bracelet is pictured), a black iPad 2 and cash.

Investigator Jordan Carter from Operation Manhunt, Hertfordshire Constabulary's specialist unit which investigates burglaries where the victims are aged 70 and over, said: "Understandably the elderly victims of this crime have been left extremely upset. The items taken hold a great deal of sentimental value and I am appealing to anyone who believes they may know of the items' whereabouts to contact me."

Anyone with information should contact the police on 101 quoting Operation Manhunt and crime reference J1/14/3712, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
