Four Watford-born men, Sir Mick Jagger’s ex wife, and pop star Damon Albarn have joined 850 others who made their debut in this year's directory of Who’s Who.

The 2015 edition of the world famous reference book will come out on Monday and will feature a Watford quartet.

They are:

Christopher Chibnall, a writer and producer who was born in Watford on March 21, 1970, and who wrote and produced five episodes of Dr Who between 2007 and 2013.

Professor Robert Edwards, chief scientist at the Food and and Environment Research Agency since 2010 and who was born in Watford on December 28, 1957.

Thomas Stuart-Smith, award-winning landscape architect, who was born in Watford on February 14, 1960, and who won eight prestigious Gold Medals at the Chelsea Flower Show between 1998 and 2010.

Martin Knights, one of Britain’s leading experts on tunnels and president of the Croatian Tunnelling Association, who was born in Watford on May 16, 1948.

All four men proudly mention their Watford birthplace in their Who’s Who entries.

Inclusion in Who’s Who,which contains potted biographies of 33,000 of some of the most talented, most accomplished and most famous people, is by invitation only, so this is an accolade for all the newcomers, including the Watford contingent.

Everyone in Who’s Who is invited to compile his or her own entry, so entries can be as long or as short as celebrities wish.

The entries of the Watford quartet are comparatively brief and modest.

Thomas Stuart-Smith’s entry contains only 11 lines. That is four lines fewer than the 15-line entry of Pope Francis, three lines fewer than the 24-line entry of US President Barack Obama and identical in size to the entry of prime minister, David Cameron.

The Watford men will now remain in Who’s Who until they die, when they will be automatically transferred to Who’s Who’s sister publication, Who Was Who.

The 2015 edition of Who’s Who is published by A and C Black at £262.50p.
