A series of iron gate thefts, two in Kings Langley and one in Rickmansworth, have occurred over the past few weeks and police are appealing for information.

The first incident happened at a property on Penmans Green, Kings Langley between Thursday, October 16 and Friday, October 17.

The second incident happened between Thursday, November 13 and Friday, November 14 when an iron gate was removed from a property on Heronsgate Road, Rickmansworth.

The most recent incident occurred between Friday, November 28 and Saturday, November 29 at a property on Bucks Hill, Kings Langley.

Steve Jacob, from the Rickmansworth Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: "These items are very expensive and their thefts left the owners understandably upset.

"We are investigating whether the thefts of these gates are linked, but nevertheless they are very distinctive items and may be taken for a niche market, or melted down.

"I would urge anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in the locations on the dates above to call us via the non-emergency number 101. Alternatively, if you have been offered gates for sale, whether as a scrap metal dealer or as a member of the public, please call us."

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
