Alison Smith from Rickmansworth, Jane Thomas from Watford, and Karen Lem from Tring, led the 11Km walk through the forest, over Ivinghoe Beacon and back.
Nordic Walkers uses poles so that upper body muscles are used as well as the legs and the poles help to propel the walker along meaning they work harder than usual while the support given by the poles makes it feel easier.
