HS2 Ltd. is contacting landowners in Maple Cross and West Hyde to ask if they can carry out more survey work.
Three Rivers District Council had been alerted after HS2 Ltd. said they would be carrying out further surveys in the area, but in a statement, they confirmed they would only be "minor changes" and said they would improve the route.
Ben Ruse, lead spokesman for HS2 said: "Since the Bill for the first phase of HS2 went into Parliament in November 2013 discussions with stakeholders and affected landowners have continued.
"We have identified several possible improvements to the route and have written to local authorities and MPs to let them know we will be contacting landowners in their area to request access for further survey work.
"This mainly relates to minor changes such as moving a bridleway or gaining access to a water treatment plant. We will have more details when the survey work is completed in the New Year."
Three Rivers District Council unanimously passed plans to hire a Parliamentary Agent at a council meeting and they will oversee the council's legal arguments and represent them at the Select Committee next year.
