Police have released CCTV images of a man they would like to speak with following a robbery at Corals Bookmakers in Watford at the weekend. 

The incident occured at 6.45pm at the bookmakers on Garston Park Parade on Sunday, December 7.

Two black men entered the premises, one wearing a hood and the other with his face covered. One man forced the counter staff to open the safe, from which he took a large sum of money.

No one was injured during the incidents, but both men left the shop and were seen to make off towards The Gossamers, Watford. Police were quickly on the scene and a helicopter was deployed, but the men were not found. 

Additional police patrols have been put in place in the Meriden area since the incident took place to prevent further incidents and reassure the community. 

Detective Constable Tanzeem Siddiqui from Watford Local Crime Unit said: "We would like to speak with the man pictured as he may have witnessed the incident or have information which would assist the investigation. If you are this man, or can identify him, please contact the Watford Local Crime Unit as soon as possible via Herts Police non-emergency number 101 quoting crime reference number C4/14/2543.
