More than half a million pounds has been invested in local projects and initiatives since Hertsmere's Local Strategic Partnership was awarded the Performance Reward Grant (PRG) in 2010.

The Local Strategic Partnership, known as 'Hertsmere Together', represents the public, private, voluntary and community sectors within the borough and is focused on creating healthier, safer and thriving communities.

In 2010, as a result of a Local Area Agreement award from central government, Hertsmere secured a PRG totalling more than £511,000, the majority of which has been allocated to a range of local initiatives.

And at a meeting held on Tuesday, December 9, it was agreed the remaining funds would be allocated to the multi-agency 'Adults with Complex Needs' project.

The council's Chief Executive, Donald Graham is project sponsor for the ‘Adults with Complex Needs’.

He said: "Our remaining area of focus for the funding will be a contribution towards the 'Adults with Complex Needs' project, which will be piloted in Hertsmere and Three Rivers.

"This project will see agencies across Hertfordshire pooling resources and working more closely together to identify and deliver better outcomes for adults who lead chaotic lifestyles and suffer from a number of problems such as homelessness, drug and alcohol misuse and mental health issues.

"It’s hoped that this project will lead the way in transforming how services are delivered nationally, ensuring that the needs of these individuals are addressed in a more holistic and co-ordinated way."
