Homelessness charity, New Hope, has created an emotive window display in its shop at 67 Queen’s Road, Watford, to raise awareness about homelessness during the festive period.
The display features a person sleeping on a park bench, sprinkled with snow to depict the reality that some will face this winter.
Charity shop Manager Polly Odbert said there are currently more than 20 people sleeping rough in Watford and both the emergency accommodation services, New Hope’s Night Shelter and Transition Service, are full.
One of these, the Transition Service, which supports 166 people a year, on average, is currently threatened with closure, due to a lack of funding.
New Hope has recently launched an appeal to raise the funds needed to continue this service.
