A Rickmansworth choir sang a "collection of moving songs" at a hospice remembrance event on Sunday.

Lemon Tuesday, performed at the Michael Sobell Hospice’s Light up a Life ceremony on Sunday, December 14. The event gives people the chance to come together and remember their lost loved ones.

340 people attended the event in Rickmansworth Road and families lit a candle in memory of their loved ones and the Light Up a Life Tree was illuminated, with each light representing the life of someone who was being remembered.

The 35-member strong choir has performed at the event since 2007, when they were involved in the hospice’s Clash of the Choirs event.

Martin Smith, the choir’s musical director said: "We were delighted to be asked to perform again at the Michael Sobell Hospice’s Light up a Life ceremony.

"We are all aware of the great work of the hospice, even if we haven’t experienced it.

"It is a nice opportunity for us to give back to the community and there is nothing nicer than singing songs with emotional content that the audience can relate to."
