Emergency services closed off a section of Whippendell Road in Watford today after a partial building collapse.
Police and fire crews were called to a property near the junction with Addiscombe Road after several bricks from the gable fell into the road.
Two appliances from Watford were sent to the scene at around 9.30am, including one with a nine metre mechanical ladder and aerial platform for firefighters to assess the damage and make the building safe.
Police cordoned off the road, which was re-opened just after 11am.
Engineers and the Highways Agency are on site now and the footpath outside the building remains closed.
