The clinical commissioning group in charge of south west Hertfordshire has urged residents to use pharmacies if they feel unwell over the New Year.
The Herts Valleys CCG said High Street pharmacies are open during the holiday period with many open later into the evening and can help manage a number of conditions triggered by falling winter temperatures.
Pharmacists are highly trained in medicines and minor illnesses and will advise if a condition needs more urgent medical attention.
Full details of opening times over the New Year are available on the Herts Valleys CCG website.
Anyone in Hertfordshire can dial NHS 111 when they need urgent health assistance and advice.
For immediate, life-threatening emergencies always dial 999.
