A group of young entrepreneurs from Kings Langley School will be hosting a Roller Skate Disco for "Dacorum Dragons' Apprentice Challenge".

Connect Dacorum runs an annual Dragons' Apprentice Challenge, where teams of school students across the borough are selected to work with a local charity.

The teams are given £100 and challenged to turn it into £1,000 or more. This is done by setting up and running a business in order to raise funds.

The teams may do this in any way they choose as long as they prepare a clear plan stating what their business idea is, and how they aim to reach their target.

Kings Langley School's partner charity is The Dacorum Community trust, and all profits from the Roller Skate Disco will go to them.

Olivia Coleman, 16, sixth form student, said: "Our latest project, the Roller Skate Disco, has been an exciting venture. Before Christmas we ran a milkshake stall at Kings Langley Primary School's annual Christmas fair, and a face painting stall at Kings Langley Secondary School's Christmas fair, where we raised a good amount of money to help fund the Roller Skate Disco.

"We are all very proud of what we have achieved so far, and look forward to the event where we hope to reach and possibly exceed our target."

The event will be held at Kings Langley School on Sunday, February 1. There will be three sessions from 11.30pm to 12.15pm for under tens, 12.45pm to 1.30pm and 2pm to 2.45pm. Children under the age of seven must be accompanied by an adult. Tickets are £7 and £2 for adults accompanying under sevens.
