A Holocaust survivor will share her experience at the Holocaust Memorial Day Commemoration in Rickmansworth at the end of the month.
Polish-born Nelly Ben-Or Clynes, who survived the Holocaust along with her mother by assuming the identity of Polish Catholics, will re-live her memories at the Hertfordshire SACRE (Standing Advisory Council for Religious Education) event on Thursday, January 29.
The theme for the Holocaust Memorial Day 2015 is "Keep the memory alive". This is particularly significant as 2015 mark the 70th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau, the largest death camp in Nazi occupied Europe and the 20th anniversary of the Genocide in Srebrenica, Bosnia.
The commemoration will take place at St Joan of Arc Catholic School, High Street, Rickmansworth, WD3 1HG at 6pm.
