People are being urged to cut the amount of sugar they eat by swapping it for something healthier.
The Change4Life campaign has been backed by Hertfordshire County Council and parents in Watford and the surrounding areas are being urged to take part.
Sugar can cause diabetes, have an impact on mental health and cause toth decay.
The project includes swapping sugary cereal for plain cereal, ice cream to low fat yoghurt and a muffin to a fruited teacake.
Families can register for their free Sugar Swaps pack filled with hints and tips on how to cut down. To sign up, families just need to visit the change for life website www.nhs.uk/change4life/Pages/change-for-life.aspx.
