With the recent terror attacks in Europe, Hertfordshire Constabulary, has increased patrols in Bushey.
The increase in patrols comes in line with the rest of the police service across the UK, which they believe will act as a deterrent.
As Bushey has a big Jewish community, patrols within the area have been particularly visible with police patrol cars being parked at the synagogue.
A spokesperson for the police said: "Hertfordshire Constabulary continues to work to protect and reassure our communities, as well as taking sensible measures to enhance the security of police officers given the recent events in Europe.
"Our community officers are in contact with schools and other partners to help counter any concerns."
