An appeal for a rear extension to a property in Bushey Heath has been dismissed by the Secretary of State.
Matthew Sugars submitted an appeal against the decision by Hertsmere Borough Council, which refused to grant him permission for a first floor and single storey extension to his home in Warren Road.
The appeal was dismissed on the basis that the proposal was too bulky and its architecture would not fit in with the surrounding area. It was also considered to be harmful to the conservation area.
