Men can get free prostate cancer checks in return for a donation to Peace Hospice Care in Watford.

The free screening check for men, which is being offered at the Elstree Cancer Centre on Centennial Park, is being made available to raise awareness around men’s health and encourage early diagnosis of prostate cancer.

In return for the health check, visitors are invited to make a voluntary donation to the Back in the Driving Seat Project delivered by Peace Hospice Care to offer support for those diagnosed with prostate cancer in south west Hertfordshire.

Specialist prostate nurse Anne Somerville said: "Men need to know the facts and understand the pros and cons of the screening process. They are then in a better position to make an informed decision about what is the right choice for them."

The check-up consists of a prostate examination and a simple blood test. Results are fast tracked meaning patients will get their results the next day.
