Council tax in Hertsmere has been frozen for the seventh year in a row.

This means a resident in an average Band D property in Hertsmere will pay just over £157 in council tax for 2015/16 - the equivalent to 43p per day.

Councillors agreed the council tax freeze at a council meeting yesterday (Wednesday).

Councillor John Graham, Portfolio Holder for Finance and Property, said: "The money we receive from council tax pays for the day-to-day services that are important to residents like waste management, street cleaning, housing and planning.

"It will also be used to continue to fund Police Community Support Officers in the borough and a debt advisor for the Citizens Advice Bureau."

Hertsmere Borough Council also agreed at the council's budget for 2015/16 at the meeting.
