A school in Kings Langley has been announced as one of 27 schools in the UK to win £15,000 for their work in character education.
Kings Langley Secondary School were notified of their achievement on Wednesday, February 25 by Education Secretary Nicky Morgan, after a panel of experts found evidence that student's work had improved their future outcomes, from exam results to behaviour, attendance or job prospects.
The Character Awards are designed to highlight the most effective ways of ensuring pupils leave school ready for life in modern Britain.
Three schools from each region were crowned winners of the award.
Gary Lewis, head teacher at Kings Langley Secondary School, said: "We were informed on Tuesday evening, and we're absolutely delighted to be named Eastern champions - it's quite a big feather in our cap."
One of the 27 winners will go on to win a further £20,000 at an awards ceremony next month.
