Dacorum Borough Council has been shortlisted as an outstanding strategic local authority for the UK Housing Award 2015.
The awards, now in their 19th year, recognise outstanding work by housing organisations to improve the lives of people in their communities, are organised by the Chartered Institute of Housing and Inside Housing magazine.
Dacorum Borough Council is now one of seven left in the running for the Oustanding Strategic Local Authority of the year.
Margaret Griffith, portfolio holder, said: "I am delighted that Strategic Housing has been shortlisted for an award. The housing department is on a journey of continuous improvement to respond better with and to the needs of our residents.
"Nomination for the award is an external validation that we are on the right track and recognition of all the hard work put in by the department."
The winners will be revealed at a ceremony at the Lancaster London Hotel on April 21.
