Chipperfield's first horticultural show of 2015 is fast approaching.

The Horticultural Society's Spring Show will be held on Saturday, March 21 in the Chipperfield Village Hall, with displays of daffodils and other spring blooms, produce, arts and crafts, a children's section and teas with homemade cakes and scones.

The exhibitors will set up between 8am and 12 noon and judging will start at 12.15pm.

Doors will open to the public at 2.30pm to enjoy the different stalls, and the event will then end with a prize giving, an auction of produce and a raffle.

Pauline Williams, a member of the Chipperfield Horticultural Society committee, said: "We have three shows a year in Chipperfield, which is quite a lot for a small village, and each has its own particular character.

"For me the Spring Show is the most eagerly awaited after the short dark winter days - the village hall is filled with the welcoming fragrance and colour of daffodils and all the other spring flowers - and the happy faces of the visitors and friends make it all worthwhile."
