Members of Abbots Langley Flower Arranging Society were left guessing last month when they heard their next demonstration evening was called "Bamboozal".

The event, held on Thursday, February 26 at the Henderson Hall in Abbots Langley, was lead by flower arranging demonstrator Jenny Clarke.

Sylvia Clinton, a member of the society, said: "The demonstration turned out to involve bamboo containers from Indonesia, which included trays, stands, vases and a crate. By the end of the evening all were filled with vibrant coloured flowers and foliage.

"By the end of the evening all were filled with vibrant coloured flowers and foliage.

"We also learnt that chimpanzees eat one type of bamboo, which having fallen to the ground and decomposed turns alcoholic - hence tipsy chimpanzees.

"Jenny gave an intriguing demonstration."

The society's next meeting will be held on Thursday, March 26 at the Henderson Hall. Doors will open at 7pm with the demonstration beginning at 7.30pm. All visitors are welcome with tickets costing £5 on the door.
