A 17-year-old boy had his jaw broken in two places after a fight involving more than a dozen people in Watford.

The teenager, from Bedford, was with his family travelling home from the Watford vs Charlton football match on Saturday, January 17 when a fight erupted at Watford High Street station.

Detectives said they were waiting on the platform when a group of males entered the station, chanting and shouting.

Officers said as the train pulled into the station, a fight broke out between the victim’s group and around 10 other males.

The 17-year-old, his brother and cousin got onto a train heading to Watford Junction, but the group followed them, spitting at them and continued the fight, detectives said.

British Transport Police confirmed the 17-year-old had a double fracture to the jaw.

Detective Constable Nicholas Thompson said: “I am keen to speak to the people in the CCTV images as they may hold vital information that could help us in our investigations.
