Watford woman Naila Aslam won't be putting her feet up this birthday - she's spending her 30th trekking the Great Wall of China in aid of Cancer Research UK.
Naila, who sets off in October, is already fundraising for the trip.
She said: "It is a charity close to heart as my mum has had cancer and my granddad is currently going through chemotherapy.
"I would like to raise large amounts of money for such a great cause and really appreciate any donation that you can give.
"All money raised will go direct to Cancer research."
Naila is also organising a fun day for children to raise funds for Cancer Research and nine-year-old Brooke Cornwell, who is fighting for her life in intensive care.
Naila added: "She is a really strong girl and has had to go through so much in her young life and I would really like to help.
"I am a mother and if God forbid anything happened to my children it would break my heart that I couldn't bring them home as needed to make the room sterile.
"The family have had to go through so much and always back and forth from hospital and anything I could do to support them would be amazing."
The fun day will be on Saturday, May 10, from 12pm to 4pm, at Hunton Park, De Vere Venues.
