The politicians of tomorrow learnt more about democracy when they quizzed councillors before voting on their favourite.
Nearly 80 pupils from Bushey schools Hartsborne Primary School, Bushey Meads and Queens’ School, attended Hertsmere Borough Council’s eight annual youth conference at the civic offices, in Elstree Way, Borehamwood.
The pupils, all aged between ten and 13, took part in an interactive quiz and show ‘I’m a democracy, get me out of here’ , performed by FLIP Theatre Workshop Ltd.
They had the chance to meet and quiz the borough councillors about their policies and principles during a ‘speed dating’ style event, before voting on their favourite.
The councillors who took part were Richard Butler, Brenda Batten and Sandra Parnell, with Richard Butler winning the vote.
