A curry night held at an Indian restaurant in Bushey has raised £700 for the Peace Hospice in Watford.
More than 60 people attended the event, which included a fixed menu and a raffle, at the Raj Garden in Park Avenue on Monday, March 9.
The night was the first in a series of events organised by Kings Langley resident, Karis Thomas, to raise money for the charity.
In November, Ms Thomas, of Toms Lane, will be taking part in the Inca Trail to Machu Pincchu to raise money for the Watford Peace Hospice.
She said: "I haven't really thought about the challenge of the trek yet, I'm just excited to be raising money for a great local charity.
"I am really grateful to Raj Garden for their support and to everyone who came on the night, or donated raffle prizes."
Manager of the Indian restaurant, Zia Rahman, said: "We like to support local people with their fundraising where we can - it's out way of helping the local community."
