A wildflower meadow is to be planted in Watford town centre as part of the ongoing improvement works to The Parade.
The civil engineering works, including installation of new paving, seats and cycle hoops are complete outside the shops in The Parade going around to the subway of Albert Road North.
New trees and a perimeter hedge around the site has been planted, and fencing repaired and repainted.
In the coming weeks Watford Borough Council will also be planting a wildflower meadow in time for summer.
Elected Mayor Dorothy Thornhill said: "This area looks great now - I hope it will encourage more businesses to open up shop here, much like the LP Café, which is doing really well by all accounts.
"I know there are a couple of units under offer at the moment - fingers crossed these progress well and start trading soon."
