Electric car charging stations have been installed in a Watford road to support an intake of electric taxis.
The three stations have been set up in Service Road Q off Beechen Grove, with two further charging areas in New Road and Bridle Path behind Watford Junction being considered.
Electric Blue, in partnership with Nissan, has provided a small fleet of electric taxis for short term rental for drivers, as well as paying for the charging stations for Watford Borough Council.
Elected Mayor Dorothy Thornhill said: “It’s great that there has been such a positive response to the introduction of these zero-emission cars.
“Our licensing team have agreed to reduce the taxi licence fee by 50 percent to encourage even greater take up.”
