Watford Borough Council has given town businesses, headteachers and members of the arts community a sneak preview of its 2015 series of Big Events.

Big Events was introduced to celebrate the renovation of The Parade and the pond, as well as the town’s commitment to culture and the arts, last year’s Big Events.

This year the Big Screen and the Big Skate will return, along with some new events.

Big Summer Sounds starts on Sunday, May 17, with a range of acts performing folk, jazz and world music live in The Parade throughout the day and evening for free.

Elected Mayor Dorothy Thornhill said: "There was a really positive buzz about what we have planned.

"We want this year’s Big Events to be even better and working with local businesses, schools and Watford’s thriving arts community will help us to achieve this."
