In a spin for Red Nose Day

10:27am Friday 16th March 2007

DRIVERS motoring along the M25 this week may have spotted Kings Langley's iconic wind turbine sporting an unusual look, all in the name of charity.

The turbine, owned by renewable energy company RES, was given a bright red nose job in aid of Comic Relief's Red Nose Day appeal, which takes place today (Friday).

All proceeds from the sale of electricity it generates for a week will be donated to the charity, which raises cash to help tackle poverty in the UK and Africa.

Staff will join the fun today by dressing up to raise additional funds.

Dr Ian Mays, CEO of RES Group, said: "We are delighted to be blowing some cash Comic Relief's way to help change people's lives for the better. Our wind turbine is a popular landmark in Hertfordshire and along this stretch of the M25. We hope it will raise a smile on the faces of passing motorists and encourage everyone to support Red Nose Day."
