Watford fan Nic Cruwys is in a “serious but stable” condition, West Midlands Police has confirmed.
The father-of-two was attacked by thugs as he walked away from Molineux after Watford’s 2-2 draw with Wolves on Saturday, March 7.
The milkman, who is affectionately known as “Moo”, was previously in a “critical but stable condition” and officers have confirmed he is still being treated in a specialist care unit.
A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "He [Nic] remains in a specialist care ward, where his condition is described as serious but stable."
Following the attack, detectives have arrested seven teenagers, aged between 13 and 18, on suspicion of wounding the father-of-two.
All of the suspects have since been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
Detective Inspector Toni Naylor, who is leading the police inquiry, said: “We have now made a number of arrests but our investigation is still very much ongoing.
“We remain keen to hear from anyone with information about the assault - who we have not yet spoken to - and I would urge them to contact us as soon as possible.
“Nic’s family would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their overwhelming support and best wishes. They are taking each day as it comes and want everyone to keep Nic in their thoughts at this time."
Anyone with information should call police on 101 or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
