Salon is a cut above the rest

A HAIR salon in Watford which opened only eight months ago has been shortlisted for a top award.

The Lory Pace Salon in Market Street, Watford, is one of 25 salons to make the L'Oreal Colour Trophy London Regional Finals.

More than 1,300 salons entered the competition.

Lory Pace said: "It is totally unbelievable, not only to be recognised by our peers, but to be in the finals with some of the biggest and most established salons."

The salon will compete in the live event in London on April 2.

Lory said: "Not only will we have to create our model's image within a set time with the judges observing, but she will also be photographed and catwalk.

"We need to make sure that every element that goes into creating this are planned in advance so as to give us every opportunity in making a positive impact on the day."

Lory Pace was born in Arbon, Switzerland, to Italian parents and began her hairdressing career in St Gallen aged 16. In 1996 Lory moved to Watford where she worked at Toni & Guy, Watford, while studying.

Lory remained at Toni & Guy for nine years before leaving in 2005 to start working from home.

Within a year Lory decided it was time to open her own salon.
