A prosecco and canapés evening sponsored by a Watford estate and lettings agent raised a total of £910 for Abbots Langley charity DEMAND.

Imagine Estate and Lettings Agent held the event at The Manor House in Abbots Langley last Thursday, which included a cookery demonstration by "The Pampered Chef", Caroline Byrne.

Ms Byrne, who used to be the Abbots Langley Parish Council finance office, organised the evening after approaching the charity which creates bespoke equipment for people with disabilities, and offered to help them with a fundraising event.

30 local charity supporters and cooking enthusiasts attended, and the charity's fundraising manager, Denise Gillies, also gave a short presentation about DEMAND, which celebrates its 35th anniversary in July this year.

Denise Gillies, fundraising manager for DEMAND, said: "Local businesses, including Design Wardrobe, Beautiful You and The Royal Oak Pub, donated raffle prizes which raised £160, and ticket sales raised £300. With the wonderful sponsorship support of £450 from Imagine Estate Agents the evening raised a fantastic £910.

"We couldn't have got anywhere near our target of £450 without the incredible support of Mike Cole, owner of Imagine Estate Agents, and we are so thankful for everyone's support."

DEMAND's next event will be a fashion show in St Albans on Monday, June 15 at St Michaels Manor Hotel. Early bird tickets are £10 until Monday, June 1 and £15 after. All tickets are only available in advance on bit.ly/DEMANDFASHION or by calling 01923 681800.
