A shadow health minister has endorsed Labour's Parliamentary candidate for Watford Matt Turmaine.

The party's Liz Kendall launched Mr Turmaine's bid to become Watford's MP this week at Beechen Grove Baptist Church, saying that Labour's plans for the NHS will benefit Watford residents and were much needed for the town.

Mr Turmaine said: "It's an absolute honour to have an endorser of the calibre of Liz Kendall, come home to Watford to launch my campaign.

"Liz was raised here, I grew up near here. Labour's team for 2015 understands what Watford residents need at this general election - saving the NHS, building a modernised hospital, and solving the cost of living crisis.

"While other parties try to argue against Ed Miliband's proposals to stand up for working people, pay the deficit down fairly and deal with unfair taxes and job contracts, it's clear that Labour understands the needs of Watford residents."

Liz Kendall said: "I know what Watford looks like, it looks like Matt Turmaine. We need him elected as MP for Watford, so a Labour government can deliver on our promises for Britain and this town."
