A 22-year-old from Garston competing in the Miss Hertfordshire finals this Sunday is to appear in ITV's Ninja Warrior UK.

Holly Worthington said she's not the "typical girly girl" and loves throwing herself into any challenge - no matter how extreme.

She took part in a gruelling obstacle course for the show, which is due to be shown on ITV in the episode on Saturday, May 2.

Holly said: "In the lead-up to the show, I trained every moment I wasn't working or sleeping, practicing with my balance and grip strength especially.

"I was doing midnight handstand sessions, setting up mini obstacle courses and training there. Working as a nanny, I was seen leaping around playgrounds with the kids and hanging off anything I could see.

"Luckily you don't look quite so strange when you've got kids with you.

"The training was well worth it, as the course was ridiculously challenging. Unfortunately I'm not allowed to say how I did until the show airs, we'll have to wait until then to find out."
