The Kings Langley Christian Aid Group launched their Silent Auction on Sunday and have already received several bids.

The group are hoping to raise £5,000 for their cause, to fight poverty and injustice in 50 countries, before the auction ends at noon on June 5.

Chris Pettit of Kings Langley Christian Aid said: "The offers are still coming in and we are close to reaching 100 now.

"Some of the latest lots include a tour of the House of Commons, led by our own MP Mike Penning, a day's fishing at a private lake in Bedfordshire, some antique silverware and a selection of items from traders in Abbots Langley.

"Readers can find the auction online by searching 'Kings Langley Silent Auction'

"People who don't use a computer can access catalogues at the libraries in Abbots and Kings Langley and at various shops in Abbots, Kings and Chipperfield."
