A man has come forward after a CCTV image of a person police would like to speak to in the Nic Cruwys investigation was released yesterday.
West Midlands Police said it received a call from a 20-year-old man identifying himself as the person in the CCTV image released on Monday.
Detective Inspector Toni Naylor said: “As a result of police releasing the image of a man we wanted to identify in relation to the assault on March 7 in Wolverhampton, a man telephoned officers last night and we will be speaking to him later today.
“The investigation remains on-going and I would urge anyone with information to call police on 101 or Crimestoppers, confidentially on 0800 555 111.”
Mr Cruwys, 44, was left with potentially life changing injuries following the attack by a gang of men after the Championship clash between Wolverhampton and Watford.
