A familiar face in Abbots Langley has been elected as the new chairman of the parish council.
Councillor Stephen Giles-Medhurst, who was re-elected to the parish council to represent Leavesden ward in the council elections, will do a second term as chairman of the council having been chairman between 2011 and 2012.
A parish councillor since 2008, and a Three Rivers District councillor since 2000, Councillor Giles-Medhurst is also a Hertfordshire County Councillor.
He said: "Oddly, Monday was the 20th anniversary of my election as the then Mayor of London Borough of Harrow, so it was a bit of deja vu.
"While the role of parish chair is not so high profile, being its civic representative of the local community is again a great honour and I will do my upmost to ensure that the parish council is on the map."
Councillor Giles-Medhurst will take over from Jane Lay.
