The Five Ways Friends group in Watford and Three Rivers is celebrating its first anniversary by inviting older residents to join them for a taste of the Five Ways Friends club experience.

At the Anniversary Taster Week, members of Five Ways Friends will be showcasing their achievements over the past 12 months, such as a variety of crafts they’ve made - including silk scarves, knitting and ceramic painting.

Members and visitors will also be able to try for free some of the regular activities at the club including gentle chair based exercise, tai chi, creative textiles and arts, bonsai tree planting, listen to a talk on the History of Silver Hallmarks and storytelling sessions.

Five Ways Friends is a network of wellbeing clubs run every weekday at various venues and gives older people, and people who are carers, an opportunity to get out of the house, take part in a wide range of activities and meet new friends.

Free taster clubs will be taking place at Christ Church in Chorleywood on June 1 between 10.30am and 2:30pm, Mill End Community Centre on June 2 between 11am and 3pm, Orbital Community Centre on June 3 between 11am and 3pm, Holywell Community Centre on June 4 between 11am and 3pm and Leavesden Green Community Hub on June 5 between 11am and 3pm in Watford.

For more information and to register a place, contact the Five Ways Friends team on 01923 216 967.

The taster sessions include a complimentary lunch and free transport is also available for people with mobility problems, both must be pre-booked by calling the team.
