Streetlights will be upgraded in Three Rivers, council chiefs have confirmed.
Hertfordshire County Council and Ringway have come under fire after a number of faulty lights were reported during the winter months.
They said the changing of lights on A-roads across the district will happen at night, to minimise the effect during the day.
It is believed the new LED lights will not produce as much as light between 11pm and 6am.
The entire project across the county will cost £6.5million and will save £660,000 a year from the end of 2015, according to council chiefs.
