A member of Watford Leisure Centre Woodside has conquered a life long struggle with his weight by losing nearly seven stone and keeping it off.

With the help of Everyone Active at the centre, Frazer Simms now weighs 12 stone, after weighing in at 18.5 stones coming up to his 30th birthday.

"I struggled with my weight for years and years," said Mr Simms.

"It was a constant battle between yo-yo dieting and comfort eating. I would lose a couple of stone but always ended up putting it back on.

"Reaching such a milestone birthday made me realise that I didn’t want to be overweight forever. I knew it was up to me to make some changes for good."

It was taking control of his eating habits combined with regular personal training sessions that helped Mr Simms keep the weight off.

Since turning his life around, he is excited about the future.

He said: "I didn’t realise until I lost the weight how much it did affect me before.

"I’m more motivated in other aspects of my life and more confident so I’m not scared to go after what I want."
