Masked robbers held up a Watford convenience store at knife point and made off with a quantity of cash, police said today.

Herts Constabulary is appealing for witnesses following the robbery at Londis, Queens Road, at around 5.30pm on Thursday, May 14.

Two men wearing hooded tops and face masks entered the shop, went behind the counter and demanded money before threatening staff with a knife.

A quantity of cash was handed over and the men left the shop in the direction of Gladstone Road.

Detective Sergeant Jo Goodson said: "This incident was obviously very distressing for the shop staff and we are keen to catch those responsible as soon as possible.

"I am appealing for anyone who was in the store at the time and saw what happened to contact me as soon as possible."
