A snooker competition organised by a Watford man to raise money for Peace Hospice Care in memory of his late wife collected more than £600.
Richard Weatherly, whose wife died of cancer in January, said the idea had a big response when he posted on the Watford Snooker Facebook page.
He said: "My wife was in the Peace Hospice for more than 10 weeks where she was well looked after until she sadly passed away.
"Talking to her in January, I said I was going to hold a snooker competition in her name, so I posted it on the local Watford snooker Facebook page and got a big response.
"It was held in Rileys Watford, who were so good in helping me run the event. I had 32 local players take part helping raise money for Peace Hospice Care, and we raised a total of £610 from the players and a raffle.
"The event was won by James Bradley, who won £450 first prize, and runner up was Mark Worley.
"Also on the day there was Martin Gould who is world ranked at number 22 presenting the prizes and trophies. A good day was had by all thanks to Riley's for holding the event which will held every year in her honour."
