The Watford FC ‘Fill the Vic’ resale campaign has raised nearly £4,500 for Peace Hospice Care.

The fundraising initiative encouraged season ticket holders who were freeing up their seat to contact the club for it to be resold.

The £4,491.65 raised from resales has been split between the Peace Hospice and the club's charity Watford FC’s Community Sports and Education Trust.

Stepping onto the Vicarage Road turf to receive the cheque from WFC ticket team members, was Peace Hospice Care’s director of fundraising, Ropinder Gill, and head of marketing and communications, Jon Michael.

Mr Michael said: "We thank WFC and their fans for supporting the ‘Fill the Vic’ resale campaign.

"We appreciate how much the Hospice means to the fans. Our services are there for their friends, family members, neighbours and work colleagues if they ever need us.

"Our relationship with the club goes from strength to strength. This campaign contributes towards the £4.2 million pounds in charitable income we need to raise each year."

WFC Head of Communications, Richard Walker praised the fans for their loyal support for the Peace Hospice.

He said: "We love our relationship with Peace Hospice Care and we take pride in the fact that our supporters love helping to raise funds for a great local cause."
