Police have released a CCTV appeal after a scam which cost two shop workers around £200.

Hertfordshire Constabulary said a man went into a shop in Church Street and posed as a newsagent, before offering alcohol and cigarettes at a discounted rate.

The two victims gave the man "around £200" and agreed to meet him round the back of shop to get the stock.

However, the man did not go round the back of the shop and he left the area. Officers confirmed he does not work at the shop.

Police would like to speak with the man pictured as he may have information about the incident that could prove useful, according to officers.

Anyone who recognises the man, or has any other information about the incident, should contact Hertfordshire Constabulary’s on 101, quoting crime reference C2/15/1088.

Alternatively people can contact Crimestoppers, the independent charity, anonymously on 0800 555 111.
