Police would like to speak to this man as part of their investigation in to a suspected armed robbery at a Watford bookmakers.

Cash was stolen from Paddy Power in The Parade after a man threatened a member of staff from behind with a hard object, believed to have been a firearm, at about 9.50pm on Saturday.

He then ran out of the bookies and fled in the direction of Rosslyn Road with a man in pursuit, police said.

Officers investigating have released this CCTV image of a man who was seen in the area at the time of the robbery.

He is described as black, approximately 5ft 10ins tall and aged between 25 and 35 years old.

The man was wearing a black jacket with white drawstrings, light blue jeans and dark footwear.

Investigating officer PC Andy Metselaar, said: “I am appealing to anyone who saw the suspect running from the shop, or anyone who may have information about this crime, to get in contact with us.

“In particular, I am very keen to speak to the member of the public who ran after the suspect as he could provide crucial information and I would encourage him to get in contact as soon as possible.”
