A man who has been selected to take part in Gordon Ramsay's triathlon took part in a fitness challenge to raise money for the same charity.

Norman Cambridge did a 12 hour cycle on an exercise bike at Bushey Grove Leisure Centre on Thursday for the Gordon Ramsay Foundation.

Mr Cambridge, who is being sponsored by the leisure centre, is one of 100 chosen to take part in Ramsay's charity GR100 team triathlon, which takes place in Staffordshire on June 14.

As part of the challenge, the 38-year-old from Stanmore, will be raising money for the foundation, which supports Cancer Research UK, Scottish Spina Bifida Asociation, The Louis Dundas Centre for Children's Palliative Care, Action Against Hunger and Meningitis Now.

The fitness challenge raised £403. Mr Cambridge said: "It was fantastic. There was a constant flow of people coming in and talking me about things they had been through, which helped - it's amazing some of the stories you hear and I am glad to be raising money for such worthy charities.

"I want to thank everyone who dontated."

Mr Cambridge added that he is now looking forward to competing in the triathlon and hopes to beat Gordon Ramsay.
