A lawnmower and a pressure washer have been stolen after a series of shed break-ins in South Oxhey.

Thieves forced their way into five sheds in Fulford Grove after using bolt cutters to cut the padlocks and a sixth shed was broken into in Sidmouth Close.

All of these break-ins are believed to have happened overnight on Wednesday, May 27 and Thursday, May 28.

Detective Inspector Phil Moss said: “These incidents are being investigated and additional police resources have been allocated to the area to prevent further incidents and try to identify those responsible.

“In the majority of cases the householders had taken the correct security precautions and used padlocks to secure their sheds, however we suspect bolt cutters were used to force them open.

“I would ask the public to assist us by calling police if they see or hear any suspicious activity. You may hear something during the night or see something out of the ordinary.

“If you believe a crime is in progress dial 999 immediately.”
